Short Term Accommodation (STA) is a type of support provided under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to assist participants who require temporary accommodation and care for short periods. This service is designed to support individuals with disabilities and their families or primary carers in situations where their regular caregivers need a break or when the participant needs temporary accommodation for various reasons.

Short Term Accommodation can be provided in different settings, such as group homes, respite centers, or other accommodation facilities that meet the participant's needs. During their stay, participants receive 24/7 support and assistance from trained staff to ensure their safety and well-being.

The goal of Short Term Accommodation is to provide a supportive environment for participants to experience new activities, socialise with others, and engage in community-based experiences while their usual caregivers take a break or attend to other responsibilities. It is a valuable service that offers respite and support for both participants and their primary caregivers, enhancing the overall quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families.
